Chadwick burns off opposition again

Barrow Central Wheelers held their second Coast Road 10 mile Time Trial of the year on Wednesday. In cold and windy conditions it was Lakes Road Club’s Kevin Chadwick that recorded the fastest time to follow up his victory last week.

Kevin (pictured left) was 48 seconds slower than his time last week, showing how tough the conditions were, which was also born out in the times all the way down the sheet, as for the first time in a long time no one recorded a personal best on the course.

After his fifth place finish last week, Jonny Hill (pictured right) improved to finish just over a minute behind Kevin in second place, making him best of the BCW riders, who had a great week filling the next seven places.

Richard Morgan (pictured left) made his return to time trials after missing last week and Mr Consistent was straight back in the groove taking third place in a time of 25 mins 34 secs.

Tamsin Vicary (pictured below) had a great run to be first lady home this week in a time of 27mins 17 secs, missing out on a top 10 by just 14 seconds. Hollie Orr (riding as a guest) and the Wheeler’s Alex Fairer taking second and third.

Hopefully in better weather, this week’s event is once again a 10 mile Time Trial but on the Haverthwaite course along the A590.

The Wheelers are delighted with the turnout for events so far but will always welcome new competitors of all standards to their races. So if you wanted to give it a try, now may well be the time.
