Barrow AFC have beaten off competition to snap up former Bluebird midfielder Tom White, as Mark Cooper continues to reshape his squad.

White, 24, starred in the Bluebirds’ rise back to the Football League and returns to Cumbria on an initial one-year deal, following his release from Blackburn Rovers.

The tenacious schemer is Barrow boss Cooper’s third signing in two days, joining fellow new arrivals Offrande Zanzala and Paul Farman, as the new-look Bluebirds squad continues to take shape.

Ex-Gateshead man White spent last season out on loan; firstly in League Two with Bolton Wanderers, before spending the second half of the season helping Hartlepool United to a Vanarama National play-off place.
