Mark Cooper looks set to become the new Barrow AFC manager, it has emerged.

It is expected that the former Forest Green Rovers boss will take the reigns at Holker Street after the club confirmed the departure of caretaker manager Rob Kelly this afternoon.

Kelly leaves his role after successfully guiding the Bluebirds to League Two safety following a remarkable turnaround after he took over from Michael Jolley in February.

Ex-Swindon boss Cooper, meanwhile, looks odds-on to take charge of Barrow just over a month after being sacked by fellow League Two side Forest Green, despite them sitting in play-off contention.
