Michael Jolley has followed up Saturday’s important win against Scunthorpe by bolstering his squad with three new signings on an eventful Monday at Holker Street.
The standout signing of the trio is undoubtedly the permanent capture of Ollie Banks from fellow League Two outfit Tranmere Rovers, whilst Tom Davies and Dan Bramall join on loan from Bristol Rovers and Barnsley respectively.
Midfielder Banks, 28, joins having made 19 appearances for the Wirral club this campaign and was a firm favourite with the fans at Prenton Park, having shown to be adept at both creating and scoring from the middle of the park. Bluebirds fans and Jolley alike will be hoping that Banks will improve the quality and output of a Barrow midfield that has been found somewhat lacking offensively so far this season.
28-year-old centre-back Davies has signed on loan for the rest of the season and arrives on the comeback trail following knee surgery that has prevented him from making any appearances for the Gas this term. Despite his lack of football, Davies comes highly rated and will provide valuable Football League experience and competition in the Bluebirds backline.
Primarily a winger, 22-year-old Bramall can also play at wing-back and in attack, giving Jolley plenty of options.
The promising midfielder could provide a more natural balance on the right-hand side to Josh Kay on the left flank, especially should the Barrow manager decide to continue with the back four system he deployed in the win against Scunthorpe at the weekend.
The rapid wide man, who was previously at Everton, joins from the Terriers until the end of the season.
